Once again, a rumor has emerged that a new football simulator under a FIFA license will be created by 2K Games. This time the retailer MohPlay Inc announced this in its X(Twitter)and earlier this was reported by several sources, including Insider Gaming And Kurakasis. According to MohPlay “output FIFA 2K25 scheduled for this year, in time for the FIFA World Cup 2K26 (Football World Cup).” It is somewhat unclear whether there is an error in the dates or name, since the final stage of the World Championship will take place in June-July 2026.

Previously, games were created by Electronic Arts, but in May 2022 it became known that a decision had been made to refuse to renew the license with FIFA and create games under its own brand. This was a rather unexpected move, as the partnership had been performing well since the release of the first FIFA International Soccer game in 1993.

Users’ opinions about FIFA 2K25 on social networks are divided: some are happy about this agreement, while others are confident in the upcoming brutal monetization and mediocre quality of the game. However, competition in the football simulation market may ultimately have a positive impact on the players themselves. Currently, EA Sports FC 24 and Konami’s eFootball have mixed reviews from both players and the gaming media.
