Activision has announced that a new in-house studio, Elsewhere Entertainment, has been formed to create a story-driven AAA game based on the new franchise. The team consists of gaming industry experts, including those who worked on world hits: The Last of Us, Uncharted, The Witcher, Cyberpunk, Destiny, Tom Clancy’s The Division and Far Cry. The studio is located in Warsaw and has been developing the project for some time.
“Built from the ground up, Elsewhere Entertainment is a premier, standalone studio that strives to create an environment that inspires bold and diverse ideas. The team’s core mission encourages everyone to explore creatively and collaborate to create a franchise with a lasting legacy that will resonate far beyond gaming.”
Judging by the job openings on Activision’s website, development will take at least five years, so don’t expect more details about the game anytime soon.
