Amazon Games has talked about what will happen to the servers of the multiplayer role-playing game New World after the release of the major Aeternum update. We have compiled a brief summary with all the important information on this matter below:
- After the release of New World: Aeternum, new servers called Standard will be opened.
- The current Standard and Fresh Start servers will become Legacy.
- Characters from Legacy worlds will not be able to be transferred to new Standard worlds. However, characters from Standard worlds can move to Legacy worlds. After the transfer, characters from Legacy worlds will not be able to return to Standard worlds.
- Characters from Standard worlds can be transferred to other Standard worlds if the target world is not full or otherwise blocked.
- New characters can be created in Legacy or Standard worlds if the target world is not marked as Full or No In Transfer.
- Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and Steam (PC) players can play together on Standard servers.
- In New World: Aeternum, your characters are locked to the platform you created them on. For example, if you create a character on PlayStation 5, you will not be able to access it on Xbox Series X|S or Steam (PC).
- PlayStation 5 players can create characters in PlayStation Only Worlds, and Xbox Series X|S players can create characters in Xbox Series X|S Only Worlds. These servers are only available to players on their respective platforms and do not support cross-play.
- There are currently no plans to merge Standard and Legacy servers. However, this may change in the future depending on the needs of the game.
Let us remind you that the release of New World: Aeternum will take place on October 15, 2024 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
