Amazon Games, the publisher of the global version of the MMORPG Throne and Liberty, has withdrawn Lucent premium currency from RMT players. According to the company, player-to-player trading for real money “negatively impacts the economy and gameplay for all players by promoting bot activity, encouraging fraudulent transactions, and jeopardizing the hard work of rule-abiding players.”
After Lucent was withdrawn, some players had a negative balance, and access to the auction was closed until the “debt was repaid,” i.e. purchasing premium currency directly from the publisher. This became the first warning for players violating the rules of the game. With the next fraud they will face more serious consequences.
In addition to these measures, we would like to reiterate our position regarding RMT:
— We have a zero-tolerance policy for RMT in our games. If you are caught doing this, you will be subject to increasing penalties based on the severity of the RMT and the number of previous violations, up to and including a permanent ban.
— If a player is engaged in RMT, we take away Lucent from him. Spending Lucent after receiving it will not prevent disciplinary action.
By player messagesAmazon Games had previously repeatedly banned accounts for botting and using afk macros, and the seizure of Lucent was the first serious step in the fight against RMT. Users Reddit already demonstrate screenshots with negative balances and express OK such a fight against dishonest players.
