The head of Epic Games received “news” from Apple. It states that Fortnite will not appear in the App Store, possibly in the next 5 years. But who is to blame?
Yesterday Tim Sweeney, head of Epic Games, shared through his Twitter account letter from Apple. There is nothing romantic about it: the IT giant from Cupertino will not restore the developer’s account for Epic Games until all the litigation between these companies is over. Sweeney says it could take 5 years. That is, for the next few years, Epic Games will not be able to create new games or transfer existing ones (hello Fortnite) to the App Store.
Note that prior to receiving this letter of happiness, Epic Games agreed to a commission from the Apple Store to bring Fortnite back to this digital store. Even though Apple won the case against Sweeney on many counts, the judge ordered developers to allow developers to insert their links into applications. Through them, payment will go past the Apple checkout. And although this happened thanks to Epic Games, the company itself is unlikely to be able to participate in this celebration anytime soon.
