Apple is official showed iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. The update affected three key areas at once, namely the camera, performance and battery life.

The main innovation was the 48 MP Fusion main camera with variable aperture, which appeared in an iPhone for the first time. The module can automatically adjust the aperture opening to the lighting and the desired depth of field, but a manual mode with four fixed values is also available.

In Reference mode, the smartphone captures signed data from the sensor and generates an unchangeable version of the frame, which can then be compared with the final image after processing or editing.

Dynamic Island has become noticeably more compact. At the same time, the cutout is now capable of simultaneously displaying up to three active Live Activities.

Both models are powered by the new A20 Pro chip. According to Apple, the GPU is 40% faster than the A19 Pro solution, and the neural engine is twice as powerful in AI tasks.

The cooling system has also been redesigned. The updated vapor chamber should maintain high performance longer under load.
