Apple’s main supplier is unable to hire new employees due to restrictions in the Middle Kingdom amid the surge of COVID-19. Does this mean that only a select few will get new iPhones?
Apple iPhone 14 is a new line, the main feature of which is the absence of a huge bangs. The Cupertino-based tech giant wanted to make sure there were no supply issues with this line; a similar disaster happened with the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13. Against this background, the supplier Foxconn wanted to increase the number of employees, but due to Covid, these plans had to be suspended.
Nevertheless, insiders expect Apple’s annual presentation in the fall, there will be no transfers with this. Tim Cook, the head of Apple, has already responded that iPhone production has been restored, with the Chinese manufacturer increasing the pay of local workers for assembling smartphones. But it will take time to establish all supply chains. It is likely that all this will result in an aggressive marketing campaign by Apple and an increase in the prices of mobile devices.
