During WWDC21, we learned about new OS versions for Apple devices. Among them was iPadOS 15, which promises increased productivity and multitasking. For example, multiple active windows can be placed on a single display. This will definitely be appreciated by owners of iPad with a large diagonal. But if you thought 12.9 inches was too much, then you were wrong. Bloomberg reported that Apple is working on an iPad with an even larger diagonal, some even talk about 15 inches. It will take several years to develop such a device, but already in 2022 we will be able to see a new iPad with a glass back case.
If we talk about the foreseeable future, the thickness of the iPad 2021 may increase slightly compared to the models of previous years. It will be interesting to see why this is connected, because the M1 processor is designed to reduce the thickness of the device (hello iMac).
To the question: “Who needs an iPad larger than 12.9 inches?” Apple’s large tablet users themselves are responsible: designers, artists, comic readers and travelers looking for a replacement PC need them.
