Aquaplus announced the development of a new jRPG under the working title Project Kizuna. The release date and platforms of the game have not yet been specified, but it is known that a team of experienced specialists who have previously created projects such as Utawarerumono and I Am Setsuna is working on the project.
The role of producer was taken by Naoya Shimokawa, and in the director’s chair was Kengo Uchibori, known for his work on I Am Setsuna and GOKEN. The script is handled by Munemitsu Suga, known for Utawarerumono, and the character designs are created by Tatsuki Amaya and Misato Mitsumi, who also participated in the development of Utawarerumono and ToHeart2.
The concept of Project Kizuna is built around the theme of a journey that brings people together (kizuna translates as “connection” or “bond”). The game’s tagline, “The Beginning of a Journey of No Regrets,” hints at the deep plot and the importance of player choice.
