Bohemia Interactive has unveiled the SOG Prairie Fire add-on for hardcore first-person shooter Arma 3. New content is being developed by third-party studio Savage Game Design, and is scheduled for release in the second quarter of 2021.

SOG Prairie Fire takes players back to the Vietnam War and offers battles on a massive 200 square kilometer map. The supplement will add 4 new factions, 55 new types of weapons, new uniforms and equipment, 54 new types of vehicles and static weapons. In addition, players will be able to take part in a new multiplayer campaign for 14 people, 9 multiplayer scenarios and 5 singleplayer scenarios.

The name SOG Prairie Fire refers to the Military Assistance Command Vietnam – Research and Observation Group (MACV-SOG), which was a US Special Forces unit created in 1964 to conduct covert operations in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia. This target group will play a central role in the multiplayer campaign. During the development of the DLC, the development team worked closely with veterans of the US Special Forces who served in MACV-SOG, as well as with Vietnamese consultants.
