The Novaquark team has announced the release of a major update for the space MMO sandbox Dual Universe. Patch 0.29 added a lot of new features, from massive PvP battles to graphical changes.
First of all, there were special points in the universe called Alien Space Core, which can be conquered by players. By obtaining rights to them or taking away points from other players, users are able to get a large amount of money and resources.
The scale of the battles has also been changed with the addition of stasis weapons. The latter can slow down enemy ships and prevent seemingly successful attacks. The speed of space travel has also changed for balance purposes. Smaller structures moved faster and heavier ships slower.
Other changes include updated UI and non-PvP newbie features, a new “Skybox”, water, multiple visual effects, and access to the market from anywhere in space via the new system map feature.
