The main villain turns out to be the dark magician Irenicus. Taking the hero prisoner and carrying out torture on him, in order to capture all the powers of the hero, which have been implanted since birth. Raise the sword and destroy all evil or become the devil’s minion, you choose. The player can continue to play through the game as their previously created character from the first part, or re-create their own. The game features the same camera-on-top view and virtually the same combat system, only this time with improvements. New types of weapons and magic skills have been added that the player can get during the gameplay. The new Shadows of Amn adventures, the Throne of Bhaal expansion, and new content were also added to the game.
