Disaster at the research center

A trait that was once unique only to Half-Life is the storytelling without a single cutscene. All dialogues took place right during the gameplay. Black Mesa tells about the plot of the first part, which was released at the end of the last century. Gordon Freeman arrives at the Black Mesa Research Facility and is supposed to participate in one of the experiments. I must say that this center is engaged, among other things, in the study of alien races and the development of new weapons. During the experiment on the crystal, something went wrong, and there was a large-scale failure, which led to the fact that the portal between the world of Earth and the planet Xen opened. A large number of hostile creatures immediately rushed from there, and since the electricity was turned off throughout the center, the workers could not oppose the aliens. Chaos broke out everywhere, accompanied by terrible deaths, fear and panic. Your task, as not only a scientist, but also a skilled warrior, is to save the surviving scientists, who, after a failure, are hunted not only by aliens, but also by the military, who were sent by the government. A few guards and, of course, a variety of fantastic weapons will help you. It should be said right away that this remake includes only that part of the original game that was before Freeman’s transition to Zen.

Weapons and Enemies

The number of different enemies and weapons in this game definitely deserves that you decide to download the game via torrent. The first weapon you can use is the legendary crowbar. Then you will come across stronger weapons, among which there will be not only instances familiar to all shooter lovers, like pistols or shotguns, but also unique types of weapons. For example, a gravity gun, with which you can attract and repel objects. Among the enemies will be those that are very easy to get rid of, such as headcrabs, as well as heavy enemies.

Differences from the original game

The bodies of defeated enemies and various objects can be manipulated by picking up, moving and throwing them. If you don’t have any ammo left, which is unlikely, or you just don’t want to waste it, then you can use flares – they effectively set enemies on fire, unless you miss. Turrets can also be dragged and programmed against enemies, but remember that they will still continue to shoot at you as well. If you played the original, then you probably remember that it all started with the training level. Now this level is gone – you are immediately immersed in the game. Some other levels have also been redone. Some have become shorter, others have simply changed, but, in general, this does not spoil the game. And the good news is that for each level new music was recorded, which is no worse than the original and even, probably, better. And, of course, there are many inconsistencies in the remake of the original game, but they are not so significant as to draw attention to them.
