The problem with cheaters has long been acute in the Call of Duty games, and in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 the situation remains problematic. The game developers are confident that the RICOCHET anti-cheat worked well at the game’s release and is now working well. However, at the start of the first season, the team was unable to achieve reliable defense, especially in ranked matches.
Several steps have already been taken to correct the situation:
- Hourly waves of blocking became possible due to the increased speed of operation of several RICOCHET Anti-Cheat subsystems.
- The process of removing cheaters from leaderboards has been sped up to reflect the results of only honest players.
- The capacity of Replay Investigation, a system for generating clips for verification, has been increased. Additionally, the team of employees involved in manual review of clips was expanded. Based on its work, AI is trained, which also participates in blocking violators.
In the future, the RICOCHET anti-cheat will receive a driver update at the kernel level and completely new server-side protections, which will be launched during the second and third seasons. The developers will provide more information about these updates as they become available.
