Depending on your choice at the very end of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, you can get dramatically different endings. And while there aren’t as many options as previous games in the series like Black Ops 2, there are some twists and turns. After some endings, the continuation of the Black Ops story seems completely impossible – but who knows, maybe this is an alternate timeline.
In this guide, we will try to avoid unnecessary spoilers. There are three main endings in the game – actually two, one with two major differences, and many smaller differences that depend on your actions during the campaign. If you are wondering what your ending depends on, read the guide further. You have to go through two different missions, and both of them reveal interesting facets of the plot.
Truth ending
During the Identity Crisis mission, select the Truth option. This will unlock the “Last Countdown” mission. Pass it to get the “better” ending, which is not so good.
Ambush ending
During the Identity Crisis mission, select the Lie option. After that, run to the gates of the shelter. This ending requires you to open this door earlier in your playthrough.
Go to the back room and radio an ambush. This will unlock the Ashes to Ashes mission, which will be the last one.
The ending of a failed lie
As in the previous ending, choose the option “False”, but do not call an ambush on the walkie-talkie. Then you can’t take revenge – it’s all over for you.
This will also unlock the Ashes to Ashes mission, but the outcome will be different.
In addition, there may be slight differences in the endings depending on whether you side with Adler or Perseus. The secondary elements of the ending depend on the following decisions and actions:
- Accept or kill Kasim.
- Kill Volkov or take him alive.
- Performing Operation Chaos.
- Implementation of Operation “Red Circus”.
- Save Park or Lazarus, or let both die.
