Capcom has announced its first ever game development competition for students in Japan – the Capcom Games Competition. Participants will be given access to the proprietary RE ENGINE engine and other development tools in the cloud environment.
Students will be able to form teams of up to 20 people, assign roles based on gaming industry professions, and receive support from professional Capcom developers. In six months, the teams will have to create a full-fledged game. The winners of the competition will be offered assistance in finalizing the project with the prospect of its commercialization. At the same time, the rights and authorship to the created games will remain with the teams.
Capcom said the competition’s goal is to strengthen the gaming industry and contribute to society. The company intends to continue such initiatives as part of its corporate social responsibility.
You can apply for participation from December 9, 2024 to January 17, 2025. Participation is open to students over 18 years of age studying at universities, graduate schools or vocational schools in Japan.
