The Wizards of the Coast publisher has released the Magic: The Gathering Arena card game for smartphones. Many fans of the CCI have been waiting for her, now let’s see if their hopes were justified. After the incredible popularity of Hearthstone, every other card game tries to be “different”. The same can be said for The Gathering Arena. But this project is unlikely to be lenient towards beginners and the younger generation: the cards look like their real prototypes, and the battlefield looks more like a real table than a virtual and warm get-together.
Otherwise, we are faced with similar mechanics: two heroes sort things out; they have health and mana. Cards are divided into spells and units with attack and armor. Sometimes there are many letters in the description for a particular card, and this is an obvious disadvantage for small diagonals. The winner is the one who looks like in the face of the enemy many times and knocks his HP down to zero. We have already seen this and Wizards of the Coast flew into the feast late in the day: most likely the project will only go to ardent fans of the franchise, while casual players will remain in Gwent or Hearthstone.
Magic: The Gathering Arena is already available on iOS and Android. This is a shareware project with microtransactions up to 4 399 rubles per item… There is no Russian localization.
