Valve has announced the launch of the multiplayer first-person shooter Counter-Strike 2. The game is available for download for free on PC through the service Steam.
Counter-Strike 2 is essentially a free update for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive that brings the project to the Source 2 engine and introduces many improvements. All accumulated progress from the previous game, including inventory items and Prime status, is transferred to the new part.
In Counter-Strike 2, the developers improved graphics and physics, and also improved or recreated maps already familiar to fans from scratch. The game now has a sub-tick structure, thanks to which movement and shooting no longer depend on the server update rate. The visuals and sounds have been redesigned and the interface has changed. In addition, the rating system has been updated.
