Co-op survival simulator DayZ updated its record for peak online play on Steam after installing a major update. Online numbers have gradually increased since October 16th, with a new record of 78,937 players being set last weekend. The previous record of 73,418 was recorded in January 2024.
This event was the result of the release of the Frostline DLC with the third official map called Sahal, which is a frozen volcanic archipelago in the Far East. This map features a frosty biome, in which survival and gathering play a very important role. Temperatures on Sahal rarely rise above zero, food supplies are extremely limited and are often found frozen, which will require defrosting. On top of this, the volcanic landscape creates additional pollution challenges.
Over the past week, Steam users have left almost eight hundred reviews for Frostline DLCof which 70% are positive.
