Ubisoft is in no hurry to reveal the details of the anti-cheating system of the multiplayer first-person shooter XDefiant. The security software was already available during past beta testing, but its details are still being kept under wraps. How explained game executive producer Mark Rubin, answering a question from a Twitter user, such secrecy is necessary in order to avoid leaking information to scammers.
“It’s a constant fight with people who hate video games. If people didn’t cheat, we’d have more developers to work on making the game even better. But cheaters don’t want good games. However, in answer to your question, we try not to talk about our anti-cheat system in order to avoid leaking information. Therefore, unfortunately, this is a topic in which I try not to be too transparent,” said Mark Rubin.
XDefiant was planned to be released before the end of summer 2023 on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, but it is possible that the release will be postponed.
