Beast Burst Entertainment studio has revised the development plan for MMORPG Scars of Honor, shifting all resources to preparing a release for PC. Despite the fact that the project was initially positioned as cross-platform, the authors decided to release the game first on the main platform in order to ensure the proper quality of game mechanics and technical stability at the start. Development of the version for smartphones has not been stopped, but it is now seen as a long-term prospect and will be resumed only after the project’s position on PC has been consolidated.
In the official statement, the team also responded to community criticism regarding the visual style of the game. The developers emphasized that the stylized graphics are a conscious artistic choice, and not a consequence of the technical limitations of mobile devices. This approach is aimed at creating a recognizable aesthetic and providing high performance on a wide range of computer configurations. The authors strive to avoid a situation in which excessively high system requirements cut off a significant part of the audience of fans of the MMORPG genre.
Focusing on one platform will help the studio work out the mechanics and content in more detail, without wasting effort on adapting the interface and controls for touch screens. According to the creators, a successful and stable launch on PC will become the necessary foundation for the subsequent expansion of the game’s ecosystem.
