This is a re-release of the legendary game, a restart of the entire series that has been loved by more than one generation of players. The first part, released back in the early 90s, was at one time a real breakthrough in the shooter genre, and then all other developers looked up exclusively to it. It has been in development for more than 10 years in complete secrecy, and therefore for a long time the creators did not indulge us with an abundance of information and gameplay trailers. But it was immediately known that the plot would be somewhat banal and primitive.

Plot

The action takes place in the distant future, on the territory of the Red Planet Mars. Everything that you see on the screen is wonderfully intertwined with everything that you have previously seen in the original first part. A global multinational corporation called UAC is exploring a distant planet, it has already managed to send many astronauts to its surface, and now a real scientific base has been built. It employs both scientists and the military, who are here for security purposes and to prevent force majeure situations. At some point, something went wrong, and the find found by the researchers turned out to be completely different from what was originally expected. After that, the real demons from the underworld are selected to the surface, which means it is the turn of the military to engage in an unequal battle. You play the role of a nameless hero who is not afraid to go into battle against terrifying monsters that surpass him in strength.

Gameplay

The game was previously called Doom 4, but after the developers decided to return to the roots of the classic series, including in the gameplay, it was released under its original name. The main features here are that everything has become much cooler than it was before: stronger monsters, more destructive weapons and more realistic movement animations. A huge number of classic cannon prototypes are present, including the Super Shotgun and the unrivaled BFG-9000. Also, if you are low on ammo, you can fight with a melee weapon such as a chainsaw. Events take place here at a terrifying speed, and therefore you will need a very quick reaction and the ability to instantly respond to events taking place around you. Also use super jumps and boosters to get to your destination as quickly as possible. Also, it has not gone away and, on the contrary, the classic multiplayer mode has been improved, in which each of the players participating in it fights for himself in a duel not for life, but for death. In some of the modes, you can find an original artifact that, when used, turns the character into one of the monsters present in the original game campaign. There is also a built-in map editor, with which you can create your own levels for a network game, and then fight them with your friends.
