Fallout 4 is a post-nuclear apocalyptic RPG shooter developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. This is the fifth major article in the Fallout series, released on November 10, 2015 worldwide for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

The action takes place in a post-apocalyptic open-world environment that spans the city of Boston and the surrounding Massachusetts region known as the Commonwealth. The main story takes place in 2287, ten years after the events of the third part and 210 years after the “Great War”, which led to catastrophic nuclear destruction throughout the United States.

The player takes control of a character called “The Sole Survivor” who emerges from a long-term cryogenic stagnation in Vault 111, an underground fallout shelter. After witnessing the murder of their spouse and the kidnapping of their son, the lone survivor travels to the Commonwealth to track down the missing child.

The player explores the dilapidated world of the game, completes various quests, helps factions and gains experience points to increase the level and enhance the abilities of his character. New features in the series include the ability to create and manage settlements, as well as an extensive crafting system in which materials from the environment can be used to craft drugs and explosives, upgrade weapons and armor, and build, decorate and upgrade settlements. The project also marks the first installment in the series to feature full voice acting for the protagonist.
