The graphics of the game looks pretty nice and well-developed for that time. Car models look fresh and realistic. The colors are brilliant and the level of detail is quite high. The game also runs at 30FPS all the time and keeps up with even all those police cars on screen. Basically, this game looks amazing. Definitely one of the best racing projects of the time on the XBox.

The sounds of the car are also worked out. The soundtrack is pretty good and the voiceover is decent, even if the dialogue is terrible for all the characters. The only thing that can be written down as cons other than dialogues is that this game does not support custom soundtracks. Burnout had this feature though.

The gameplay of the game is quite lightning-fast and dynamic. You will love the feeling of speed when racing. Now you can go very fast and still make tight turns, so you never feel slowing down, even if you don’t hit a very tight corner. You can choose from Quick Race, Selective Race, Career and Online Play modes.

The game controls the riding style very well and the interface buttons are well mapped. The only thing that worries are the drag and drop controls as you now shift gears with your R-finger. In this regard, the implementation of the crane is bad. The game was critically acclaimed as EA’s best game of that year.
