Serious Sam: Siberian Mayhem is a nostalgic project from longtime fans of the legendary series who teamed up with the developers of the original to release a new standalone update to the favorite shooter of millions. The Russian company Timeclock Studio, in close cooperation with Croteam, is developing an add-on with new adventures of Serious Sam in Russia. This time, Sam Stone will have to travel across Siberia and get to Tunguska to fight back the aliens and punish the traitor General Brand, who stole the Holy Grail.

The game will be released on the Serious Engine 4. The development team has previously released various story additions and modifications to the game, so their skills in developing development tools can be trusted. The project is expected to be traditional for Cool Sam’s reckless dynamics, an abundance of black humor and national flavor – no one will make the “cranberry” thinner and more elegant than domestic developers.

It is stated that the add-on will support not only single-player mode, but also multiplayer. This means that for fans of nostalgia with friends, new locations and new weapons will be available.
Among the locations shown in the trailer and announced by the developers are five new levels, which include the Arctic coast, taiga forests, abandoned villages and a deserted ghost town teeming with Mind’s minions.
The official release of the game is scheduled for January 25, 2022. The development idea was first announced a month earlier, although it is clear that the developers have been working on the project for much longer. The game will be distributed through a digital distribution on online platforms. The original version of Serious Sam 4 will not be required to install and run, the add-on will contain all the necessary resources to start the game.

The game itself, on which the add-on will be based – Serious Sam 4 – was not welcomed by the public too cordially. Either the fans, after more than twenty years of the existence of the series, are somewhat “burnt out”, or the developers have embarked on self-repetitions. Siberian Massacre was the first official expansion for this version of the game, and it holds out the promise of rekindling audience interest in Serious Sam.
