Electronic Arts has announced a new mobile RPG based on The Lord of the Rings – The Lord of the Rings: Heroes of Middle-earth

Electronic Art has partnered with Middle-earth Enterprises, a division of The Saul Zaentz Company, to develop a mobile game called The Lord of the Rings: Heroes of Middle-earth. It’s a collectible RPG designed to expand the Lord of the Rings universe to new audiences on more platforms around the world.

“We’re incredibly excited to partner with The Saul Zaentz Company and Middle-earth Enterprises to create the next generation of mobile RPGs,” said Malachi Boyle, vice president of mobile RPGs at Electronic Arts. “The team is made up of Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit fans, and every day they combine their strengths and passions to provide players with an authentic experience. The combination of high-quality graphics, cinematic animation and stylized art design immerses players in a fantasy Middle-earth where they will come face to face with their favorite characters.”

“We are thrilled to partner with EA once again, this time to bring fans a mobile game inspired exclusively by J.R.R. earth Enterprises. “We are honored to be working with the talented team at Capital Games, whose knowledge and love of history is palpable throughout.”

The developers of The Lord of the Rings: Heroes of Middle-earth promise a compelling storyline, turn-based combat, a deep collectible system, and an extensive roster of characters from the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit universes. Players will have to look into the history of Tolkien’s world and join the fight against the great evil of Middle-earth.

The release date of The Lord of the Rings: Heroes of Middle-earth is still unknown, but this summer will be held regional closed beta testing.
