What is Soulmask?
Soulmask is a sandbox game with survival elements that aims to be a “real world experience”. As the “last man” of the tribe, imbued with the power of mysterious masks, you will forge a living in this ancient land of mysterious cults and forge your own path to civilization. Explore, build and recruit tribesmen to create your clan from the ground up.
Since this is an early access version, the current visuals, sound effects, performance and other aspects are not final. We are doing our best to make this game better with your help!
When exactly does Soulmask release in Early Access?
Our Early Access version will be released on the following dates worldwide: May 31, 2024 at 10:00 BST.

Is there a console version of Soulmask? Or the game is only available on Steam.

Will the game support DLSS/FSR?
Yes! We will support NVIDIA DLSS/AMD FSR.
If the above function does not work, please update your graphics driver to the latest version, restart your computer and try again.
Additionally, there is a chance that you will experience flickering when using DLSS in the Early Access version. FSR would be the best choice.
Will it support PC/Steamdeck game consoles?
In fact, Soulmask already has a controller/SteamDeck scheme, but after some testing it didn’t live up to expectations.
Therefore, to ensure a good experience for all controller players, we will not publicly announce support for controllers and Steamdeck during Early Access, but you can still use this unfinished feature. We are fully prepared to optimize it. We will be comprehensively improving support for game controllers and Steamdeck in the near future!
Will EA have official PVP servers?
Short answer: Yes. The PVP mode is still in the early stages of testing, and you may find some shortcomings, such as a lag issue when the server is full of players (this often happens when there are more than 30 players online). We will continually optimize relevant content to provide the best experience.
What game modes will be available?
There will be 4 modes in early access: single player mode, LAN network mode for 8 players, PVE/PVP mode on the official server and private servers.
What are the rules for the official server?
Taking into account the wishes of users, we are optimizing the classification of official servers based on the previous test.
The game has a large tribe server and a small tribe server, and both have PVP/PVE modes. The PVP operating time with building damage for a server with a large tribe is 12 hours, and for a server with a small tribe – 4 hours. We think it will be better this way. Collection and experience multipliers also differ between game modes. Details are below:
Note: Server power, building damage time and other rules may be adjusted according to actual server load and user feedback in the early stages of Early Access. We will post notices in a timely manner.

Official early access servers include American, European and Asian.
I want to create a dedicated server myself. How can I do it?

My game crashed/I’m stuck!
We apologize for the bad experience with the game. Soulmask still has some unresolved compatibility issues in Early Access. You can try checking the integrity of the game cache or restarting your computer. If the problem persists, you can visit our official Discord to contact our staff. We will solve the problem as soon as possible.
What is the reason for high ping on the official server?
The official online mode is still imperfect at the early access stage. When the server is full of players, it will activate many units on the map. Due to the precise checking of actions during battles, stutters and freezes may occur. We will continue to optimize relevant content to ensure a smoother experience! If you encounter this issue, we recommend trying Single Player, Multiplayer, or Private Server first.

Crafting seems very grueling. How to make it easier?
And this is where one of the main features of Soulmask comes to the rescue: Tribes! By intimidating the wild barbarians, you can accept them into your tribe. They will be able to help you with harvesting, crafting and other tasks, or even create an entire automatic production line.

What about PVP gameplay?
PVP mode is based on freedom. You choose whatever playstyle you like, and there are no fixed PVP battles. In addition to survival and combat, you may need to communicate, negotiate, and even create tribes or wage war with other players. We believe that this will add variety to the gameplay and give it more freedom. We hope players will be able to fight fairly and communicate freely!
For new players, this mode can be very challenging, as they will have to deal with threats from both nature and other players. This means that your home, resources and tribemates will be attacked by other players. Therefore, it is better for new players to start with solo or multiplayer mode.
Does PVP have season reset, cross-server and other features?
Resetting the PVP season is a common feature in many games as it can spice up the game and make it more challenging. In Soulmask, the PVP season will be reset after it ends, meaning game data will be reset to give everyone the same start in the new season.
The rules are as follows:
- [Продолжительность PVP-сезона] – The PVP season will last about 120 days, after which it will reset and a new one will begin. We will still be testing PVP during Early Access and may adjust the reset time. Notice of adjustment will be published at least one month in advance. After confirmation we will change the status [Будет объявлено] for a specific date.
- [Межсерверная группа PVP] — 21 days after the start of the season, players on one server will be able to teleport to another server that is part of the same cross-server group. Please note that the number of players on each server remains the same.
- [Пока нет планов на сезон для PVE-сервера] – However, we may evaluate and make adjustments during the Early Access phase, and if there are any changes, we will announce them at least 3 months in advance.
What are your plans for the future?
In the early stages of Early Access, we have an initial plan for the future. Of course, we will make appropriate adjustments based on your feedback and the actual situation. For now, let’s share with you our current “ambitions”:

How can I get a special mask (a reward for participating in previous tests) in the Early Access version?
Play Soulmask with the same Steam account used in the test and level up your character to level 15 in any mode to unlock the mask decoration table. You will then be able to equip the mask in the Special Masks section.

2. Open the mask decor interface.
3. Scroll down the page and find “Special Mask” to equip the mask.
I have already participated in testing, but why can’t I get a special mask?
We noticed that some players entered the wrong Steam ID when applying for [Новые облики масок], so their accounts cannot activate them normally. Please visit our
official Discord server and in the channel [#New Mask Appearance] Reissue Channel enter your Steam ID and character name. After checking, we will send you the mask in the next version.
