Unfortunately, the release version of the Forza Motorsport car simulator will not include all the planned functionality. Turn 10 studio creative director Chris Esaki stated during the monthly video broadcast that the racing game will not have spectator mode and split screen mode at launch. So those who like to race with friends through a split-screen behind one screen will have to wait for updates.
As Esaki explained, the team’s heavy investment in pushing new graphics capabilities and a complete overhaul of the rendering engine made split-screen very difficult to implement. However, it is possible that the problem also lies in the small amount of RAM in the Xbox Series S, since it was precisely because of the difficulty with split-screen on the younger console that the release of Baldur’s Gate 3 on Microsoft consoles had to be postponed to 2024.
The developer also stated that Forza Motorsport will not have a feature to fill missing players with bots in multiplayer. According to him, it can negatively affect the competitive component of the game.
