The last major update for Dauntless called AWAKENING, which was released in December 2024, along with the release of Steam, not only did not attract a new audience, but also angered the old one. As a result, the game received a huge number of negative reviews, and most of the developers team fell under reduction. The result was quite expected – Phoenix Labs announced the closure of the project. The servers will be finally disconnected on May 30 (9:45 Moscow time).

A large Umbral Reign UMBRAL update was planned for the release of January 16, but was postponed to the unanonicized date. However, now the team announced that Dauntless will not receive any additional content.
