The global version of the MMORPG Swords of Legends Online has been in a state of stagnation for several months without receiving any content updates, and now Gameforge has officially announced the closure of the project. The servers will be permanently shut down on July 30th at 11:00 am BST.
Real money in-app purchases are no longer available in Swords of Legends Online, but players can spend their remaining currency to purchase cosmetic items at a 90% discount. Refunds are not provided for.
The publishers noted that the global version of Swords of Legends Online had a great start, but failed to maintain the number of players needed to sustain the game in the long run. According to Gameforge representatives, they are having serious discussions with the developers, trying to find alternative ways to save the game, but there was no solution that suits everyone. That is why the news was reportedly published so late.
