Grinding Gear Games unveiled a demo of the action-RPG Path of Exile 2 at gamescom 2023. Visitors could test five pre-made characters. Portal IGN has published gameplay for the Druid, Warrior and Huntress. What is happening on the screen is commented by the director of the game, Jonathan Rogers.
The player will have a ship on which he can move between the islands. There are story quests on each island, and the locations are made in a unique style.
A druid is a hybrid character that can transform into several types of animals, cast spells, and summon various pets to help him. The character does not have high survivability even in the form of a bear, so players should be careful when playing for him. Transforming into a bear helps you avoid damage: slamming the ground with your paws can stun nearby enemies, and a special run will allow you to avoid being surrounded. The transformation can be called with any skill from the desired image, and the animation lasts only 0.5 seconds.
Separately, it is worth noting that dodging is also possible for a bear, but only in the city. The developers created a dodge animation for the bear, but decided to abandon it in the game. However, this animation turned out to be very funny and they left it as an easter egg.
The Warrior is a classic melee character with skills that will give him mobility in combat. He is able to reduce the armor of opponents, stun them and deliver powerful blows.
The Huntress is distinguished by the fact that she is able to quickly close the distance with the enemy and easily leave the battle. In addition, her skills allow both melee and ranged combat.
