Following the Fiscal 2023 Q2 report, a Pearl Abyss spokesman spoke about the development status of Crimson Desert and DokeV.
The development of Crimson Desert is going smoothly at the moment, and the developers are taking a lot of time to complete development in the second half of 2023. Despite the fact that development has been going on for many years and the standards of the gaming industry have changed, developers are working hard to keep up with the current level of games coming out on consoles. The game has been tested several times and received good reviews. Third-party specialists familiar with the console market participated in testing.
At gamescon 2023, it is planned to show a gameplay video that will reflect the planned final quality of the game. Since Pearl Abyss itself is not announced at the exhibition, most likely, the video will be shown at Opening Night Live on August 22 or there will be an opportunity to watch it at one of the stands of the company’s partners.
When asked about the possible conclusion of exclusive agreements with any console platform, a company representative answered somewhat evasively:
“We are discussing various options with several partners, but nothing concrete has been decided yet. We will think about how best to bring the game to the market, putting our interests at the forefront. What is clear is that we are committed to releasing the game on multiple platforms so that as many gamers as possible can enjoy Red Desert.”
Due to the fact that the main forces were busy developing Crimson Desert, the development of DokeV was not given due attention. But soon all the forces will be directed at her. Both games are created on a proprietary game engine, which will allow the implementation of all the new technologies created for Crimson Desert.
Financially, the indicators continue to stagnate. It is possible that the new addition for Black Desert will improve performance in the third quarter of 2023.
