Everyone loves to eat, and the characters in Genshin Impact are no exception, as many ingredients and recipes are used to buff and heal a squad. We have created a whole guide that will help you understand this aspect of the gameplay.
With the exception of using skills, there are two main ways to fully heal characters in Genshin Impact. The first, as mentioned in the beginner’s guide, is interacting with the Statue of Seven, allowing you to fully restore your squad’s HP. Whenever you do this, the healing power of the statues decreases, and is restored over time.
Another method that does not necessarily have to dangle back and forth is, oddly enough, cooking. The option is available in towns where a pot or oven can be found, or while adventuring in the wild if you’re lucky enough to find a camp with a cooking pot.
Cooking any recipe manually requires the timely pressing of the buttons / keys. If you do it perfectly, then cook the best version of the selected recipe, for which you will receive additional bonuses.
When you open the cooking menu, you will see all the recipes that you can cook. Here are some examples:

In addition, each character in the game has the ability to cook a special dish. Before proceeding directly to the cooking process, it is possible to choose a hero who will cook food. For example, Keia’s signature dish is chicken skewers, while Ember is perfect for steaks.
If you choose a character to cook a signature dish, then there is a chance that you will end up with cooked food with increased characteristics.
As we mentioned above, for perfect cooking, you need to press the buttons / keys in time. But how exactly does the cooking process take place? There is a mini-game to play, during which an indicator will appear, and you will need to press “stop” as soon as the indicator reaches the golden section. If it works, then the dish will be cooked “perfectly”. Clicking on other areas with a lighter shade will also lead to success, but one should always strive for the ideal.
If successful, skill will increase, and you will be able to cook each dish faster. Upon reaching the maximum level of any recipe, the mini-game will disappear and cooking will be performed automatically.
All the ingredients needed to cook in Genshin Impact can be found in the wilderness. Fruits, vegetables and other herbs are found in trees and meadows. As for meat, smaller creatures (for example, insects or fish) will have to be captured by pressing the “F” key. Speaking of larger species (like boars, foxes, birds, etc.), then you need to attack them. For this, it is best to use ranged weapons such as bows, as the critters quickly run away if the player gets too close.
This process can be speeded up by purchasing some of the ingredients from regular merchandise stores in Genshin Impact’s main hubs: Mondstadt and Li Yue Harbor.

Last but not least, you can “process” certain raw materials and turn them into dishes or ingredients. To do this, you need to find a restaurant / place for cooking in the city. There is a special tab that allows you to process ingredients, and you will be able to combine basic ingredients and turn them into more complex components. For example, several stacks of meat can be turned into sausage. This will take time, but this is how you can access the best recipes in Genshin Impact.
