Hoyoverse announced the imminent termination of support for the Genshin Impact version to PlayStation 4. This solution applies exclusively to this platform, while the game will continue to work as usual on PlayStation 5.
According to the developers, the closure of the game on the PlayStation 4 is associated with the technical restrictions on the console. Over time, the game is constantly growing, graphics improves, new regions and content are added, which in the end makes it impossible to provide a comfortable gaming process on this platform. With the output of 5.8 for Genshin Impact, the minimum and recommended system requirements will also increase for PC and mobile devices.
The process of termination of support will take place in three stages:
- From September 10, 2025, the PS4 version will be hidden from the PlayStation Store. Players who have already added a game to their library will be able to reinstall it at any time.
- From February 25, 2026, intra -game purchases on PS4 will become unavailable.
- April 8, 2026 will be impossible to enter the game with PS4.
Players on PS4 are recommended to bind their Hoyoverse accounts and switch to other platforms. From December 17, 2025, a special notice will appear in the game, reminiscent of the need to bind an account. All game progress will be completely preserved.
