Grand Theft Auto Trilogy is out on PC and consoles. The game has already divided gamers into two camps.
Rockstar Games launched Grand Theft Auto Trilogy and it turned out that things were not so smooth. After watching the gameplay, some gamers noticed that the publisher was in no hurry to share the gameplay before the release (hello Cyberpunk 2077). And although the result turned out to be better than that of one Polish company, the general opinion can be expressed as follows – the remaster was made in a hurry and some points need to be improved.
The first thing that catches your eye on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X is the choice between quality and performance. That is, whether you want a resolution of 4K or 60 FPS. It is strange that for a remaster of very old games there is such an option at all. If we talk about the version for the Nintendo Switch, then in the portable mode it is “cloudy, but stable”, but with the docking station and on the TV, everything is much worse. It can be seen that the local iron cannot cope with the load.
On the PC, the situation is better, although due to the rushed development, all three Grand Theft Autos seem to repeat my story: the third part was a breakthrough, but with its skeletons in the closet, Vice City is already much better, and San Andreas gave the franchise a world name. For example, in GTA III, nothing is visible due to the rain, also the drops are not transparent and some reviewers even felt a little dizzy from racing around the city with this effect.
Let’s end on a more positive note – probably Rockstar Games will release a patch from the first day, then a few more fixes and people will generally be happy. After all, Grand Theft Auto Trilogy allows new generations of gamers to touch the history of the gaming industry. On the other hand, next year we will have a mobile version of this trilogy, and if the situation with it is the same as with the Nintendo Switch, then stock up on a powerful smartphone and nerves of steel.
