Studio Dadako and publisher Rainy Frog Co. Ltd. presented a trailer Spy Drops Gaiden – a continuation of the stealth game Spy Drops, made in recognizable pixel graphics for old portable consoles.
Action Spy Drops Gaiden takes place on an island off the coast of Japan, where the player will have to infiltrate fortified bases and carry out a series of secret operations to neutralize a global threat. The plot continues the events of the first part and begins immediately after its ending.
The main character is special agent Ripley, who will have to act alone against superior enemy forces. The developers promise different types of missions – from freeing prisoners and collecting intelligence to controlling a drone in enemy territory, requiring maximum caution and the use of cover.
Stealth mechanics are based on classic techniques of the genre: the player must stay in the shadows, move slowly so as not to create noise, hide under vehicles and bypass surveillance cameras.
To collect information from neutralized opponents, a gadget called “Dream Catcher” is used – with its help you can extract intelligence data and gain access to protected objects.
In addition to the main campaign of eight intense missions, Spy Drops Gaiden added two bonus mini-modes, reminiscent of the arcade games of the 80s, where you need to destroy as many opponents as possible in a row. The developers also provided a ranking system for completing each mission and variable weather conditions that affect the gameplay.
Title release in Steam scheduled for October 12.
