Shapeshifting is probably one of the most fun things you can do in Baldur’s Gate 3, and it turns out you don’t have to be a spellcaster to do it. All you have to do is wear a headgear called the Werewolf Mask, which can disguise yours as any other inhabitant of the Sword Coast, regardless of race or gender. But how to get it? Read on!
The shapeshifting magic spell in BG3 can be used for more than just entertainment purposes. In fact, this mechanic opens up almost limitless possibilities for players. In addition to simply changing appearance and anthropometry, you gain access to abilities that are simply not available to members of your original race. In addition, by choosing the right disguise for a conversation with certain NPCs, you will be able to win over the interlocutor in advance and get the opportunity to choose exclusive dialogue options. And this is not to mention the banal opportunity to turn into a halfling and crawl through where anyone else can safely get stuck.
The method of obtaining a Werewolf Mask for this purpose can be a little more troublesome, as it involves more than simply choosing the appropriate spell. But with her you can feel like the only and inimitable master of reincarnation.
How to get the Werewolf Mask
Currently, the only way to get the Werewolf Mask is to purchase the special digital edition of Baldur’s Gate 3. If you already own the game, you can purchase and install DLC Digital Deluxe Edition additionally. Meanwhile, anyone who purchased the BG3 during Early Access or pre-ordered it will also be able to get the item in-game.
Where to find the Werewolf Mask
The catch is that the mask will not appear in your character’s inventory at the start of the game on its own. To find her, after escaping the Nautiloid and encountering Shadowheart, head to your camp by pressing the special fire button in the lower right corner of the screen (this can only be done when you are safe). Once at the camp, open the large yellow chest next to Shadowheart’s tent. There, double-click on the yellow box with the left mouse button to get your mask and other items exclusively available to owners of the special edition. Then open your inventory and drag the Werewolf Mask into the helmet slot. It replaces any headgear you are wearing. Once you’ve done that, you’ll be ready to become a master of makeover.
On the bottom toolbar you will have the shapeshifting spell. After clicking on it, a new tab will open, where you will be asked to select the race and gender of the creature you want to mimic. Once you make a decision, your character’s appearance will instantly change based on the option you choose.
Your hero will get a new look, but you won’t be able to customize his stats like in the character creation menu. All characteristics will be randomly generated. But thanks to the Mask of the Werewolf, you can change shape as many times as you want, even without being a powerful sorcerer, and at the same time look mysterious and impressive. By the way, if desired, the mask can be hidden in the inventory menu of your character.
