The mystery behind the new door in Demon’s Souls Remake has finally been revealed! Thanks to streamer distortion2, we learned how to open the strange door in Boletaria’s palace at location 1-3 (Obelisk of the Tower Knight). For solving the mystery, any player receives a gorgeous set of armor created from the soul of the Impaler!

The whole thing turned out to be ceramic coins. Ceramic coins are a new element in Demon’s Souls Remake, which opens up a hidden area where a nice prize awaits us. Something similar, by the way, was in the remake of Shadow of the Colossus – there was also a closed door, which required 79 coins to open.

Note that these coins can only be collected with a completely white or black world trend in Fractured mode – a special mode that reflects (mirror) the entire game world, including your character and enemies. In addition, coins are pretty useless: they cannot be traded, they break if dropped by one player and picked up by another, and they turn into broken ceramic coins. However, both intact and broken ceramic coins still retain their main function, which is to restore a ridiculous amount of health (about 60 HP).

So how does it work? Behind the Tower Knight Obelisk [1-3] there is a mysterious locked door in the Boletarian Palace. It can be interacted with, but it requires special items called ceramic coins to get the key.

  • The door itself is behind an illusory wall. To open it, collect 26 Ceramic Coins and give them to Crow Sparkly at location 3-1. In return, she will give you a rusty key. As a reminder, ceramic coins can only be found when playing in Fractured mode.
  • Use the rusty key to open the mysterious door, behind which you will find a set of Impaler armor. The set is exclusive to the Demon’s Souls Remake and pairs perfectly with the sword of the same demon.

Ceramic coins should only be used to trade with Crow Sparkly. Otherwise, they are very useless items! That is why you should just save them up in order to exchange them for your favorite set of boss armor.
