The company has developed a patented zero clearance hinge
Motorola recently unveiled the Razr 5G foldable smartphone, which will go on sale in the US for $ 1,400 on October 2. The first buyers of the device can get it with a 50 percent discount when exchanged for their smartphones.
In the second version of the Moto Razr, the company used a new single-chip system and improved the camera, as well as developed a patented zero-gap hinge. This hinge allows the screen to close so tightly that a sheet of paper cannot be held between the two parts.
For added strength, the hinge is constructed from stainless steel and the body itself is constructed from 7000 series aluminum. Motorola mechanized tests confirm that the hinge can withstand 200,000 flexion and extension cycles. The manufacturer confirms that the smartphone will last more than 5 years if you open and close it 100 times a day.
In addition, during the development of the smartphone, Motorola has filed more than 100 patents, which also relate to software that allows you to quickly interact with applications on the external display and switch to the internal screen.
