The creators of Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire made it possible to import the saved game state from the first part of the series. Also, there are two more options for those who don’t have the file. With our guide, you can easily take advantage of each of these opportunities.
Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire debuted on PC this week, one of the most anticipated releases for RPG fans. The developers from Obsidian Entertainment did not disappoint and presented an excellent game that is definitely worth buying. It does not require knowledge of the first part of the series, although in order to enjoy it to the maximum, it is still better to familiarize yourself with it, especially since we can import saves from there. How to do it?
Shortly after the start of the game, your eyes will fall on the menu, where you will find several options. The first one loads a file from the previous part, the second one creates your own story, and the third one offers you to choose one of the saves prepared by the creators.
In the first case, you need to have your own save – its place in the C: Users folder[Имя пользователя]Saved GamesPillars of Eternity. This way, the game will respect the choices you make in PoE I, which will affect events, characters, and available dialogue.
The other two options are for users who have not played the first part. For example, if you want to create a new history, you need to find the “Set PoE I statistics” button in the settings. A dedicated installation wizard prompts you to make a number of important choices. This process won’t take long, and you don’t even have to go into all the details of the plot.
Don’t want to fool yourself? Then choose one of the stories prepared by the developers. But be careful – some of them will complicate the game: for example, in the option “Everything is bad” it is provided that all tasks in the last part were failed.
Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire is currently only available on PC. A console release is scheduled for the end of the year.
