IllFonic has announced that it will publish Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game, a multiplayer asymmetric horror game based on the 1988 film Killer Clowns from Outer Space. The announcement states that the game will be released on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, but does not mention the previous versions for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Either this is a bug or the previous generation versions have been cancelled.
“When we first spoke to Good Shepherd Entertainment and Teravision Games about this possibility, we were very excited about this IP,” IllFonic CEO and co-founder Charles Brungardt said in a press release. “Then we got to know the Teravision team and knew we were going to make it happen. Everyone at Good Shepherd made the process of handing over this project a pleasure, as there is a lot of behind-the-scenes work required to make something like this possible. And we’re thrilled to help create another experience for the community that they can truly immerse themselves in. It’s crazy to imagine yourself in such a universe, which is why we love to create and publish games for IP, which we are fans of!
“We are thrilled to be partnering with IllFonic to create Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game,” added Teravision Games CEO and co-founder Enrique Fuentes. “They have more experience in the asymmetrical multiplayer genre than anyone else in the industry. Teravision Games and IllFonic working together will allow us to take the game to the next level and feel confident in the face of multiplayer challenges of this magnitude.”
Recall that IllFonic worked on such asymmetric games as Friday The 13th: The Game, Predator: Hunting Grounds and Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed.
Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game is a 3v7 asymmetrical multiplayer horror game based on the 1988 MGM cult movie about alien clowns. Players will be able to choose the side of either people or clowns. The latter are represented by personalities divided into five classes – Trapper, Tank, Fighter, Scout or Tracker, each with their own unique weapons, abilities and playstyle.
