Insider: Valve is developing MOBA shooter Deadlock

Information has appeared online about the next game from Valve called Deadlock, based on a completely new franchise. About her told an insider under the nickname ‎Gabe Follower through an account on X/Twitter, sharing the first details.

Here’s what we know about Deadlock according to an insider:

  • Deadlock is a competitive hero third-person shooter.
  • Previously, the project was codenamed Neon Prime and Citadel.
  • Battles take place in a 6 vs 6 format on a huge map with 4 lines.
  • Players can use hero abilities and items.
  • There are tower defense mechanics.
  • The setting of the game is fantasy with a touch of steampunk.
  • The game has wizards, strange creatures and robots.
  • You can quickly move along floating rails, like in Bioshock Infinite.
  • The insider called the game a mixture of Dota 2, Team Fortress 2, Overwatch, Valorant, Smite and Orcs Must Die.
  • The hero designs are largely inspired by the Dota universe.
  • The main map references a modern European steampunk city, a bit like Half-Life.
  • The game originally featured science fiction elements inspired by Half-Life and Portal, but after negative reviews the development team decided to focus on fantasy.

Note that there has been no official announcement of Deadlock yet, so it is possible that this leak is a fake. In any case, we are waiting for information from the developers.
