Camera supplier says everything is on a strict schedule

Last week, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reported that one of the camera suppliers for the upcoming iPhone 12 smartphones was having quality issues. Allegedly, Genius Electronic Optical discovered problems with coating cracking on a wide-angle camera lens designed for lower-end iPhone 12 models with 5.4 and 6.1-inch screens. The analyst argued that the problem arose during testing in high temperature and high humidity and that it will lead to delays in the supply of Genius components for future iPhones.

Now Genius Electronic Optical has made an official statement, which refuted the previous information. The camera supplier stated that all customer requirements are being met and everything is proceeding on a strict schedule. It’s worth noting that Apple also uses Largan Precision. So even if Genius Electronics had problems, Largan Precision would have made up for the possible delay.

However, after the announcement of Genius Electronic Optical, it became clear that there should be no supplier delays. However, Apple will still introduce new smartphones later than usual.

Yesterday, well-known insider Jon Prosser said that the iPhone 12 presentation will take place on October 12, and the start of smartphone sales is scheduled for October 19.

On September 7, only the new smartwatch and iPad will be presented.
