James Gann does not mind creating an analogue of Marvel Rivals with DC characters

The head of DC Studios James Gann expressed his readiness to consider the possibility of developing a multi -user shooter in the DC universe in the Marvel Rivals style. However, at the moment there are no similar projects in the work.

At the end of 2024, Marvel Rivals rapidly gained popularity, becoming one of the largest online players and squeezing Overwatch 2. The game offers battles with the participation of the famous Marvel superheroes and villains, which played an important role in its success. Recently, Marvel Rivals added new characters-the man-faculty and the creature, thus completing the composition of the fantastic four.

The question of the possible response of DC to this hit was raised during the DC Studios event, where Gann declared: “This is quite possible, I am open to the idea.” Nevertheless, he made it clear that at the moment no developments in this direction are conducted, but if the studios propose an interesting concept, he is ready to consider it.

Earlier, DC already had attempts to release multiplayer games, but they did not always be successful. One example can be called Gotham City Impostors – a 2012 shooter inspired by Team Fortress 2, in which players acted as impostors imitating Batman and Joker. The game was experimental, but could not win a wide audience.
