Kakao Games has announced that it will conduct a large-scale merger of the servers of the global version of the MMORPG ArcheAge. The merger will affect servers in Europe and North America, and will affect both modern ArcheAge and ArcheAge: Unchained. As a result, instead of six servers, there will be two – one in Europe and one in North America.
The developers have already tested the possibility of transferring players from the Unchained version to the current one, and there should be no problems. The publisher will transfer the characters, all things from the bag and chests, titles, and the houses and interior will be dismantled and sent to the game mail. But some game information cannot be transferred. The merger is scheduled for November 30, 2023. The full terms and conditions of the transfer can be found at official website.
The publisher has openly said that they cannot maintain smooth gameplay as the server population has dropped to a critical point. The unification will bring the game to life, including in PvP and factional confrontation.
Earlier we wrote that the game developer, XLGAMES, plans to cut about 30% of the development staff and gradually stop supporting the game.
