South Korea’s Hound13 studio known for its mobile RPG game Hundred Soul has announced a massive investment of over $ 17.5 million from Southeast Asia-based Garena. In addition to spreading MOBA League of Legends in Southeast Asia, Garena is also known as a global developer and publisher thanks to the mobile Battle Royale Free Fire.
Hound13 was founded by the people who worked on the MMORPG Dragon Nest, but is still considered a startup as the studio only released one game. According to the foreign portal MMOCulture, the investment will allow the team to focus on the development of new projects, such as:
- Project D is a cross-platform PC and mobile game powered by Unreal Engine 4 with a cute character concept.
- Project M is a story-driven PC RPG powered by Unreal Engine 4 set in a dark fantasy world.
At the moment, it is not specified whether Garena will receive the rights to distribute these games.
