League of Legends Vice President of Franchise Development Greg Street in a series of tweets told on the team’s approach to creating content for the upcoming MMORPG. According to him, if you add too many activities, then players have to spend a lot of time on character development, and if they are optional, then they seem not so necessary. Therefore, the content in the game will sometimes even be missed.

However, the developers do not see anything wrong with the fact that players will leave the project simply because they have nothing to do, and then return after the release of the update. Approximately the same thing was said at one time by Naoki Yoshida about Final Fantasy XIV. However, the team promises to take care of those who want to play a lot.

“We don’t want this to be the only game you will play. If another game you like comes out or, God forbid, you love more than one service game (let’s say Valorant), you should be able to play them too! If you don’t have another game you’d like to play, great. Read a book. Watch TV. We will make more content and then you can come back. If you really, really like our game, thank you, we will make sure that you have something to do for many hours. But, most likely, it will not be necessary at all, ”said the developer.

As Greg noted, despite all of the above, the League of Legends MMORPG will be really massive, which is why it has been in development for so long. The essence of his words is that the team respects the time of the players and does not want to turn the game into a second job in which you need to spend a lot of time every day.
