In 2021, the Jagex studio, known for the MMORPG RuneScape, decided to try its hand as a publisher and released the isometric looter shooter Space Punks from Flying Wild Hog. The game was originally released in early access, and a year later got to a full release. All this time, with the exception of the last few months, the developers have been regularly releasing updates. However, this was not enough to attract a large audience.
Flying Wild Hog and Jagex have published a letter announcing the closure of Space Punks. The decision was reportedly made after careful consideration of market conditions and objectives. The game can no longer be downloaded through the Epic Games Store, and the servers will be permanently shut down on November 6, 2023.
