Mafia: Definitive Edition is a remake of the cult Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven, released in 2002. The game re-acquaints us with the classic criminal world, but almost everything has been updated: from cut-scenes to shooting mechanics.
Yes, the game has an open world, but there’s no reason to explore it unless you’re playing in Walk mode! Its powers are unlocked as you progress through the main story, and it allows the player to move freely around the city and fully explore it. Of course, the city doesn’t compare to GTA’s Los Santos, but there are a few things to do that you can truly enjoy. You can buy some guns from Vincenzo’s armory and wreak havoc on the streets, or you can collect all the cards and unlock the secret cars!
There are five postcards in total. If you don’t know where to find them, then check out our guide below. We will also list other things that can be done in the “Walk” mode.
To begin with, we advise you to go to the Salieri bar, where the arsenal of Vincenzo (Vinnie) is located, from where you can take any gun you need. Note that as you progress through the main campaign, more and more weapons will open.
Where to find postcards?
If you want to unlock all the secret cars, then head to Luca Bertone’s car service. There, on the wall, you will find a stand with postcards that give clues to the car’s location – head to the location shown in the picture to steal the car and unlock it!
There are five such cards in total, and they can be seen in the collectibles menu. Each of them has a text hint. Once you take the postcard, you can unlock the wheelbarrow. However, it is worth remembering that it is impossible to get to the car without a postcard!
Here is a list of all locations where cars are located:
- Disorder: North County, by the building east of Flyer Dam.
- Lassiter V16 Apollo: McCloud Mansion, Beach Hill.
- Flame Spear: Central island, construction site in the southeast.
- Trautenberg Sport: Embankment, business district.
- Manta Prototype: Factory quarter, central station.
There are a few more side quests in the Walking mode that can be completed to unlock cars – Baskerville’s Mysterious Notes in Salieri’s Bar.
If you go to that bar, you will find a note on one of the pool tables. It reads: “Go to the westernmost point of Little Italy and wait for the phone to ring.” Go to the phone booth, answer the call, and a special mission called “Crazy Horse” will open – you have to transport the car to the garage marked on the map as soon as possible. The car must be delivered in perfect condition: it cannot even be scratched. In case of successful completion of the task, you will receive a wheelbarrow for yourself. It is worth noting that it is incredibly fast (accelerates up to 250 km / h), which is rather strange for a game like Mafia.
After each completed mission, a new note will appear in the Salieri bar, and the algorithm is the same: you have to go to the place marked on the map, where the phone will ring.
