History

The game takes place at the beginning of the twentieth century, to be more precise, in the 1930s. The game takes place in the fictional American city of Lost Haven (or Paradise Lost). The suburban part adjoins the city, and together this makes up 12 square kilometers of in-game space. This city is similar at the same time to Chicago and San Francisco of those times.

Plot

It all starts with Tommy Angelo meeting with Detective Norman at a restaurant, where he offers him to give away everything he knows about his boss, Don Salieri, in exchange for a shortened sentence and protection for the family. Tommy Angelo begins to remember his past. In 1930, he, being a taxi driver, by the will of fate meets two people working for Salieri – Paul and Sam, whom he saves from the killers of Salieri’s main enemy – Don Morello. The next day, two killers come to his soul, but he manages to drop into Salieri’s bar, where the attackers are killed. So he is in his debt and agrees to work for him. He saves the bartender’s daughter Sarah from a group of men who tried to attack her. One of the attackers later turned out to be connected with Morello … This is how an interesting and intriguing plot twists, in which you will be the main character.

Game process

You control Thomas Angelo from a third-person perspective. You can move freely using public transport and cars. They also have chases that you have to visit, and more than once. For the most part, the entire gameplay consists of traveling around the city and shooting. Of course, all this makes the plot fascinating. It is told not only through game events, but also through cut-scenes, which are well directed and choreographed. The city is quite spacious and interesting. You can visit a museum, an airport, a church, a hotel, an abandoned prison, restaurants and Salieri’s bar. The game provides for a change of day and night, as well as a change in weather conditions. But they change only when moving from level to level. There are fifty-one American cars among the cars that you can ride, not counting nineteen additional ones, among which there are also five racing ones. But even here – especially here – do not forget about the police – they work in the city. The game is also noted for its dynamic damage system.
